six age related mistake marketers make online and off.

Myth no1

Older people are all the same. - so wrong it’s about as stupid and offbase as assuming that all teenagers are exactly the same.

Myth no 2

Old people think of themselves as old - now here’s a direct quote from my wifes 83 year old gran. “Your not old until your at least 95″

Myth no 3

Not an important marketing segment - guess what old people have the most spending power on the globe just now. No mortgages and more free time on their hands.

Myth no 4

They won’t try some thing new - contrary to young peoples opinion this is not even close to the truth and related to the fact that the young tend to think that old people keep themselves to themselves just have a look at your local paper and there will be some form of targeted activity advertised by older folks for older folks.

myth no 5

They have impaired mental abilities - absolutely wrong and sweeping generalisation 95% of the older generation have exactly the same mental capacites that the did 15 to 20 years ago.

myth no 6

They are in poor health - well the ones that are in poor health are but this is the same for any age and it is generally assumed wrongly once again that anyone over 60 isn’t physically active if we were being honest here it is our teenagers that aren’e physically active.

Add this to your own blueprint for an internet marketing succes formula and you won’t go to far wrong.

Other age related issues talked about recently in the blogosphere or marketing forums.

www.outfrontblog.com -Does Getting Old Mean Going Back into the Closet? I’m a married 34 year old with 2 children I’m not going to ignore other sub groups even if they ignore me.
webhostingtalk.com - Is design essential?
healty everytime.blogspot.com - redefining the boundaries of age
/hospitalmarketinganas.blogspot.com- healthcare marketers instinctively know how
interactivemedia.org - Youth culture will virtually disappear in Europe as the marketing of new technology is directed to the growing older population

5 ways to profit from PLR

Published by under free private label downloads

1. Sell a PLR eBook just as you downloaded it.

Sometimes we find a PLR eBook that is so well written we don’t want to make any changes to it. This is a rarity so make sure that you do actually read it print it ou and read it through. It may be perfect for our target market so we want to put it out for sale immediately.

We should still change it a little your the author now, and adding some links of your own won’t hurt your business. Not quite sure of how to do this then watch this video If you’re not willing to do even that, then you should really revaluate whether this is for you. Go and watch sex in the city or something that’s going to empower something other than your bank balance.

This is the easiest way to make money from PLR, but it depends on a lot of factors including finding a good content writer and an eBook written on the exact topic we are targeting. This is no small task. And, let’s not forget the nature of PLR – hundreds of others have the exact same eBook, and they will inevitably be competing with you for sales the lazy way by spitting it out just as they found it.

2. Bundle Related PLR Products

Maybe you want to sell a package of products to give the buyer more value and increase the price of the sale. In this case you would scour the PLR sites, auctions, and forums to find several topically related eBooks, software, scripts, or articles.

This is a common marketing tactic used in other industries as well. Look at the video gaming market for example. The Xbox 360 unit was released with several “bundles”. The console itself sells for $300 but the Kids Starter Bundle is $500, the Sports Bundle is $600, and the Ultimate Gamers Bundle is a cool grand! Nintendo is the king of this once again the Wii Fit has sold out in the UK and you can only get it in the full bundle if you have something that is very in demand you can give more and charge more.

Whether real or not, consumers think that if they buy more of any one item, they are getting a better deal. It’s a great marketing ploy you will always see a buy one get one free offer in your supermarket, increases the value of the sale, and has been proven to work. Make sure you are adding value if you over burden your new buyer with rubbish they will never ever buy from you ever again.

3. Give It as a Bonus

If you already have a primary product or service and you’re looking for something to make your offer even juicier, a PLR product is the perfect answer.

Since PLR material is much cheaper than your own stuff or that of a freelancer, you can justify giving it away as an extra. Just make sure that the topics are similar don’t give a dog training book with a giving up smoking guide. And don’t be afraid to mix up the format. If your primary product is an eBook, then why not give your customers a complimentary piece of software or vice versa.

4. Use a PLR eBook to Promote another Product

One of the best ways to promote anything is to first develop a trust with your ne prospects. And, time and time again it has been proven that giving them free, useful information is the best way to develop that relationship.

You give them a free PLR eBook chocked full of information about a specific marketplace, and in that eBook you lead the reader to your primary software product (ex. The Ultimate Widget Automater), which solves their problem in some way. I can assure you they are much more likely to buy from an informational eBook than a hyped up sales letter any day of the week don’t not have the hyped up sales letter as well though.

5. Sell it on eBay

Cheaply to find potential buyers for your other products .If you are looking to generate leads for your other products or services, you may want to purchase PLR products and sell them on eBay or other auction sites at cost.

Sure, you won’t make anything on the initial sale, but if you modify the PLR product to link to your products or newsletter subscription, you will surely make some backend money.

The lifetime value of the customer is far more important than making a $3 or $5 profit on each piece of PLR. Build trust and you can sell over and over again and now you have a business rather than a fly by night operation.

Free or paid WebHost? Get either today.

Free or Paid Hosting

Days 9-12 of the 30 days to internet riches series

This will absolutely come down to do you or don’t you have funds. If you can afford it then absolutely get your own domain. I use hostgator and have found them to be very reliable and they do have the ability to host more than one domain in your current pricing plan.

When going paid - some considerations

Does it have development support?

Any hosting company worth their salt should be offering you the following

CGI
.htaccess
PHP
MySqyl
Python
cron jobs
Ruby on Rails

I would recommed you look for fantastico as an option for auto install, you can save hours on the technical side of things with this tool.

Databases

Most things you will want to host will require databases are you limited in this area, it may hamper your growth later.

Reliability

Look for as close to 100% uptime as possible the web is much more stable than it was previously and if you suffer downtime your visitors will not see what they came for and may see you as a fly by night act that it untrustworthy.

As they have them all I’m sticking with hostgator. Click the image below to see their site, they offer some top notch tutorials on ftp which have moved me from relying on others to doing most of my own web authoring.

No Money no Problem

There are tons of free webhosts out there where you can host your domain or a subdomain for free.

However they have limitations.

I’ve used weebly

Nothing is perfect if you use a service such as weebly.com you can avoid carrying advertising for others but rather than having www.yourdomain.com you would have the website title www.yourdomain.weebly.com.

I’ve used squidoo

Similar issues to weebly although your also tied here to a standard page type and you must create a profile page that will show any other content that you have hosted with squidoo. In this case you will create “a lens” and it will be located at a url which looks like this www.squidoo.com/yourlensname

There are lots more

If you do a google search for free web host you’ll find one no problem but you will more than likely have to carry adverting of some sort for their site. Do not let this stop you from getting started.
